geekXmarketing conference: Good idea or GREATEST idea?
I just had the best idea.
We need to start a Toronto geekXmarketing conference. It’ll be like TEDXTO, except all the panels will be about the intersection of marketing and geek culture.
Jane McGonigal, of TED Talks “Gaming can make a better world” fame, should be the keynote speaker.
Jon Crowley will give the presentation “How Magic the Gathering taught me everything I need to know about strategy.”
Sara Hamil (Yes, Sara, I am dragging you into this) will talk about the importance of communication between colleagues and departments to prevent the silo-effect, using the example of Sora and Riku’s deteriorating friendship throughout the Kingdom Hearts videogame series (I totally just made that one up, I haven’t even finished Kingdom Hearts I.)
And I will host a discussion about how to best deal with changes in executive leadership through an examination of the relationship between The Doctor and his companions, through his 11 incarnations to date.
Who else is with me?
